My name is Van Agtmael Mieke.  I am married with Dyck Walter.  Together with our cats and guinea pig’s we live in Wilrijk, near Antwerpen.  Ever since I was born I carry a “cat gene”.  Early this year I’ve been thinking about starting my own cattery.  I’ve always been a catlover en have been surrounded with these amazing creatures ever since my childhood.  Also have I been a faithfull visitor of many catshows.

In 2000 my husband and I went looking for a real “pedigree”cat.  At home I always have had household pets and getting a real pedigree cat was also for me a whole new experience.  At a catshow in Brussel we became acquainted with an American Curl.  This funny looking cat knew how to steal my heart and my husband also got charmed by their appearance.  It didn’t take long before we got our own American Curl.

We even have taken him to a catshow and you won’t be surprised that from that point on everything went plummeting ahead J  It wasn’t long after that our curl got a “brother”.

Thanks to the catshows I came in contact with lots of people active in the catfancy.  It’s through this hobby that I met my best friend, Kris Flossie, at a show in June 2003.  Through this friendship I got my first Oriental Shorthair.  The personality of this cat was all I’ve been searching for in a cat.  Since then I occupied myself more active with cats and even became secretary of a fun catclub: B.K.V. ’94 v.z.w.
